Garden House Tent Jul 02, 2009
By C. King I was shocked at first when I saw how small the box is that the house tent is stored in, I thought, "Oh no, what have I bought." But the size of the box was very misleading. I haven't tried to take it back down and store it, so I can't say if I'll be able to get it back into the box, that is if My 4 year old grand daughter who loves her new tent would dare let me. We didn't have much room for a tent so this was the perfect size. She has room for her little Dora couch to pull out and she can lie down inside. She can stand upright in it now but not when she grows a couple more inches, however it matters not to her.
She loves the roll up door, drop down window and rearranging the Velcro flowers. It is like her own little play house. And Grandma is so happy not to have to hang blankets over chairs anymore.
The instructions were very easy to follow and set up was a snap, under 10 minutes the first time. It is adorable, well made and very sturdy. I was very impressed with the quality of this product in comparison to materials some other tents were made from. As a matter of fact, I have a little pop up tent for my cats and it is the same material, so no snags from their cat claws. Yes, my grand daughter has to chase the cats out of her tent regularly because they like it too.
April 10, 2010 Update The tent has held up remarkably well, considering I have 4 cats that still love it, however, I do have to recant the statement about no cat clawing. They have two scratching post but they still have nearly worn thin the materials on the corners of the tent. Grand-daughter is five now, still plays in it occasionally, but just the same, I think I would suggest it more for younger children.

Cute Garden Playhouse Feb 12, 2009
By bookreader "Melanie" This playhouse is so cute. I love the fabric and the colors. I looked all over stores for one and they looked so flimsy and cheap. This was so easy to put together. Sticks hold it together and it has never fallen apart even if my 2 yr old pulls on it. My daughter loves that the flowers are velcro and can be pulled off and rearranged. It sits right in our living room and looks great. As my daughter gets older, I hope she'll use it as a reading corner. We put a little bean bag in there so she has something soft to sit on. The bottom does have fabric across it, but it is not padded.

Cute house Feb 04, 2010

Great design, good price & better than anything I saw in the stores when I was shopping for a tent for my 2 yr old daughter. She loves her house & loves to decorate it with the flowers but best of all, it keeps her busy! Highly recommend it

Very Strong Flame Retardant Chemicals! Aug 07, 2010
By Mom and teacher
"C. M."
As I set up this house, which is super cute and bigger than I thought, me and my 2 yr old were coughing the whole time. I thought it was maybe some packaging dust at first. Then when we went inside, he kept rubbing his eyes and I felt my mouth tingling. He even said "I'm tired", after he woke from a 2 hour nap (never happened ever). So I looked closer at the box which says that the fabric has been treated with flame retardant chemicals, which are obviously very strong and not safe for human health! It sucks, since my son and friends love the house, but now I'm trying to return it. Maybe I can toss the fabric and keep the frame, and make a new cover myself, if I suddenly get 5 extra hours in a day! DON'T BUY if you care about your kids health, they have show that high levels of flame retardant chemicals are linked to decreased ability to concieve children and decreased IQ!

So Wanted to Love It, But... May 03, 2012
By KND I am writing my first Amazon review EVER. I think it is important for parents to do the research and see how comfortable they are with flame retardants before getting this product.
We got the garden house today and my daughter was excited merely looking at the pictures on the box. I set it up this evening and as I handled the fabric I kept feeling that there was a layer of something left on my hands. Several rounds of hand washing didn't take of the residue. I checked again to see if the garden house fabric was the source. Indeed it was. I thought I'd just put a mat as a floor to the house to prevent my little one from crawling on it. But after reading some of the reviews and doing a bit of research, I've decided to pack this up and send it back to Amazon ASAP. I SO wanted to keep this cute house, but it isn't worth risking my child's health for it.
