Perfect for my 17 mo old! Mar 30, 2007

My 17-mo old -loves- this stool. She uses it mainly as a chair; she has a "breakfast in bed" table that she uses as a desk and with this little chair she can sit and color or read or make projects. It's durable, lovely color, very well-made. I purposely bought the natural one so that when she drew on it (which she already has), I won't worry about painting it. Stickers are easy to peel off of it (another big plus). And it's sturdy enough for me to use it as a step stool, so it will certainly grow with her.

Tough? Sturdy? Crap! Feb 14, 2009
By L. Camacho I am packaging this stool up after one trial use by my daughter.
First of all, the seat was defective - it is supposed to be glued down but it came off of its four tiny pegs when I tried to pick it up. That would be an easy fix and something I wouldn't even complain about if the item as a whole was worth keeping.
The back of the chair that "flips" down to make the step is my main complaint - it isn't level with the bottom of the chair! Meaning, it hovers over the ground and when my 2 year old stepped on it to climb up on the potty she nearly took a header backwards when the entire stool tipped.
Furthermore it slides all over the floor, having no traction pads on the bottom. An easy fix, I suppose, but just added to my ire.
What a waste of time and money. I'm returning it for the white plastic Bjorn stool - sturdy, non-slip, and a quality company.

Very durable and useful! Dec 24, 2008
By Stephanie I bought this for my son who likes to help me cook. He has used it to get things for himself and to help me cook many times. It is not very high, so I think the stool part would be better used for slightly older kids (my son is 6). The chair part would be best for younger children, but my son still uses it to sit drinks, plates, and other things on. The stool is very durable, and I have even used it on a couple occasions. I bought this off of Amazon for VERY cheap (only a few dollars), but I do think it is worth more than that--although maybe not the regular $40 price tag. Overall, this stool is very useful and looks really nice too!

Shoddy workmanship Feb 07, 2007
By Karl H. Grosshans A nice little stool for kids, however, after only one day of use, I had to reinforce all the glued and stapled joints with screws!
Love it Dec 01, 2009

This step up stool has helped my daughter become more independent! She can now reach the potty and sink without someone having to lift her. She loves it!
