Looks cute but sounds horrible Nov 18, 2000
This little red piano looked very cute. I thought a real mechanical piano would be a much nicer musical toy than an electronic keyboard for my 3 year old, so I ordered it. Boy, was I dissapointed when it arrived. First, it is very cheaply built, using the lowest grade particle-board for the case. And it was so out of tune that it was not even possible to play the simplest children's songs using this piano. I don't recommend this piano for anybody who actually wants to utilize it as a musical education toy.

We love our piano Jul 08, 2001
Grandma bought the kids one of those new-fangled contraptions where you arrange blocks to hear Mozart's Night Music played a million different ways...with Grandma's blessing we returned the technical monstrosity and got this piano. We don't regret it. It's fairly well made--although we have a key or two that likes to stick and get out of tune. That's easily remedied. Just turn the piano over and adjust the metal rods in the back a bit until it's back in tune. Ours appears to be well made. We've had it for a year and a half, and it has taken its share of banging. Our youngest loves pianos, and he plays on this almost every day. The sound is very pleasant, unlike most toy electronic keyboards which are all the rage. I would recommend this piano if you want a musical toy which will give your child pleasure for several years, and then you can save it for the next generation.

Hooked on Schoenhut Oct 13, 2003
I have been buying Schoenhut toy pianos for kids and grandkids over the past 10-12 years ... starting the wee ones with My First Piano, then graduating to the larger models as the children grow. I have checked out other manufacturers, but have found nothing that compares with the quality (sound AND workmanship) of Schoenhut. One time I called the company with a special request for additional song books, actually talked with a REAL person there, without having to go through dozens of menu options. They mean what they say "100% customer satisfaction." Thanks, Schoenhut, for affordable, educational, and wonderful musical instruments.

Even for Babies Apr 22, 2003
By Donna I gave this piano to a friend who has a ten month old baby named Sam. Of course I didn't think Sam would enjoy the piano until age 2 or 3. I was amazed to see Sam crawl over to the piano and reach up to touch the keys. Once he realized that he was the one making that sound, he crawled over to the piano everytime he had a chance. The piano has never tipped over. Now that Sam can sit by himself, he plays his piano from that position. What a wonderful educational toy!

This 'toy' is such a joy! Sep 29, 2003
By Joyce E. Duncan I purchased this for my granddaughter's first birthday and she loves it. She loves to tinker with my BIG piano but loves to play along with Grandma. I was unsure how she would take to it and although her parents may sometimes wish she had left it at Grandma's house they do enjoy listening to her play it. I have decided to purchase a white one for my other grandchild's first birthday. I highly recommend it to everyone!
