great piano, bench is a problem Nov 19, 2007

this piano is great. it sounds good, and seems to be well constructed. it is made of solid wood and plywood, no particle board, which is great. i am sure it will last many many years. it does not look exactly like the picture, it has a highly lacquered oak finish. the keys make a clicking noise, but i imagine this is unavoidable, and this is the best possible sound you can get from a toy piano. my two year old loves it, and so do we.

the only problem i had with it is the bench. the hardware included to attach the legs to the top of the bench is of the worst quality. while trying to attach them, two of the nuts broke, and i was using a hand screw driver (not a screw gun or drill). this has been very frustrating for me as i have had a hard time finding something to replace them. i did not want to order replacements from the company, because i figured they would be of the same quality, and would break. i found something close at a hardware store, but it didn't quite work. i ended up needing to deconstruct the entire bench, and come up with a whole new system for attaching the legs. luckily, i have a lot of experience in cabinetry and woodworking. i feel bad for anyone who gets a faulty bench like mine and is not able to repair it.

otherwise, i have no problem with the product. this has nothing to do with this particular seller, mine actually came from another seller, but i had no problem with the seller, the shipping, etc. just the hardware on the bench.

I purchased this product for my grandchild. She's only used it 4-5 times for less than 5 minutes each time. Some of the keys are hard to press and difficult to play because you have to hit the keys really hard several times to get anything. I would never purchase another one. It is also smaller than it appears.
