An outstanding and different dollhouse! Nov 18, 2010
By Carolyn McPherson I have been looking and looking for a dollhouse, something that would be different--and this is it! Beautifully crafted, relatively easy to put together (they have included an extra screw in case you lose one), and clever eco-related details, including a wind turbine and solar panels. I don't preach ecology-ecology-ecology, but this set is a gentle reminder and certainly has a great deal of play value.
Interesting product Dec 29, 2011
By AlexandriaMatt Our girls just got this as a present from their grandparents. It's a fairly high-quality, easy to assemble dollhouse with an eco-friendly bent. The company that makes the dollhouse is actually pretty interesting in itself. It's based out of Thailand (not China); the firm's claims to being progressive in terms of both labor standards and enviromental impact are supported by a number of independent reviewers. I did a little research myself on their practices and pulled this interesting youtube video they put together awhile back: [...]
In any case, I'd definitely recommend this product.

This Eco-Toy is made in China Jul 16, 2011
By mosslake My main objection here is that the label "Made in China" was hidden in an obscure way on this product. I had to open the box in the toy store to see where it was manufactured. This is deceptive in my book. For those who care where their toys are made I did my research and I am not comfortable with the level of inspections done by hired 3rd parties in China. If you google healthy toys you can find how many toxic toys the government has overlooked that are imported into the US. For example Learning Curve Thomas Train toys are made in China and in 2009 tested very high for lead and bromine. Many companies have turned to cheap foreign labor for manufacturing that is free from environmental regulation. This needs to stop and I am voting with my dollar. I buy from responsible toy companies that own their own factories and have a permanent presence there and utilize renewable resources as well as non toxic paint and glues. My research has led me to Plan Toys in the U.S., but also Pintoy and Voila are great though are available to mostly European consumers though sometimes Land of Nod will rebrand their stuff as its own and sell it here like the Pintoy firehouse.
